DVA awards LAH curriculum waiver
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Department of Veteran's Affairs (DVA) has awarded Los Angeles Helicopters approval for a waiver to increase the ratio of dual to solo flying hours for the LAH Commercial Helicopter Pilot curriculum. This unprecedented approval will allow veteran's enrolled in the LAH Commercial Pilot Curriculum to request a greater reimbursement of the dual hours they train.
"The Los Angeles Helicopters Commercial curriculum is based on real-world commercial flying experience, and is geared to develop and mature our students in the foundations required by employers to be competative applicants," states Andre Hutchings, Director of Operations. " Our committment to providing our students with the highest standards of training has inspired the DVA to endorse our proven, mature curriculum."
The DVA extends the Montgomery GI Bill to veterans interested in pursuing vocational training. The GI Bill will cover 60% of the pre-approved training course cost through reimbursement to the veteran. Only vocational training courses are covered by the DVA which include the following at Los Angeles Helicopters (LAH):
- Commercial Helicopter Pilot License
- Instrument Rating, only if enrolled in the Commercial License first.
- Certified Flight Instructor Rating
- Certified Flight Instructor Instrument Rating.
